10-minute workouts can be carried out at any time of the day, making them a flexible and realistic way to fit exercise into your lifestyle and improve your quality of life. In order to stay healthy and energized, it’s important to live an active life, but it can be hard to get to the gym. 

Whether it’s first thing in the morning or on your break from work, spend 10-minutes keeping active, and you start to notice the benefits almost right away. A good way to track your progress and find convenient workout programs is to use a fitness app; most are free to download.     

Scenic Walks 

Did you know that walking a mile is the same as running a mile when it comes to fitness? That’s because you raise your heart rate in the same way and stay physically active. Of course, running is more intense and burns double the calories for the same distance, but walking works. 

Think of ways to get more walking into your life. The great thing about walking is that you travel and exercise at the same time; all you have to do is to tweak your lifestyle slightly and walk instead of driving or taking public transport. It’s not slower; it’s your time for exercising.  

Double Time 

If you have a busy lifestyle, you have to get creative with your time, so if you want to fit more exercise into your life and benefit from the feel-good factor and more energy, use double time. Double time is when you find ways to exercise at the same time as doing something else. 

Using your legs as a form of transport is one example, another way is to exercise n your breaks from work. If you think you aren’t getting a break, think of the energy benefits of raising your heart rate, and it works better than some downtime. Also, perform yoga while watching TV.   

Morning Starts 

If you want an active lifestyle, you need to start the day in the right way. When you start the day with some exercise or some yoga, it trains your body to anticipate exercise in the morning, and it sets you up for the day. Instead of feeling lethargic in the morning, you start to feel energetic. 

Get into the habit of morning exercise - 10-minutes is enough - and your active life will be successful. However, don’t put too much pressure on yourself; if you miss a morning of exercise, you can plan some HOTWORX after work or for an active life treat on the weekend.
