Fall in Love With Baking Again With WeWalka

We have family dinners often, which gives us all an opportunity to spend time together, but also try new foods together. Recently we had the opportunity to give Wewalka products a try at our latest family dinner.

I have been feeling hugely under the weather lately. I haven't got sick in nearly 5 years, but I do still get the occasional exhaustion, muscle aches, and sore throat from over working myself. It's kind of like my "Hey, you need to slow it down!" indicator. When I get like this, the last thing I want to do is spend all day in the kitchen making a family dinner. But you know what? Wewalka (pronounced Ve-Vahl-ka,) refrigerated pre-made dough honestly takes the work out of it and allows me to hit my family dinner out of the park as usual, only with minimal effort.

All of the doughs come rolled in parchment paper that is oven safe up to 500 degrees, which means not only do you save time without having to make homemade dough, but you have minimal cleanup since the doughs bake directly on the parchment paper on your tray.

We tried out the flatbread dough and made three different pizzas (plain cheese, veggie, and pepperoni). I personally love thinn, crispy crust pizzas. It's like eating a pizza chip. My family usually likes thick crust pizza, but they were impressed with the flatbread doughs. One thing I want to mention is that with the flatbread dough, I would give it less time in the oven than the package states, which is 14-15 minutes, unless you like your crust crisp. My oven clearly bakes a bit hotter and even at the least amount of time suggested, I almost burnt it. That's okay though, because that's how I like it. The next flatbread dough that I baked, I only had in for about 12 minutes and it came out a lot softer; less crisp. But that's actually a good thing! Knowing that it will only take about 14-15 minutes in most ovens means that dinner will be on the table in no time at all!

I also was really excited to make cream horns with the puff pastry dough. Just like the Wewalka flatbread dough, it comes rolled in parchment paper, ready to go. I just cut it in strips and wrapped them around cream horn molds, brushed with some egg, and baked in the oven for a few minutes. Once the dough cooled, I whipped up some whipping cream, powdered sugar, and a tiny bit of vanilla to make the filling. They are so much better than store bought and my family loved them!

There is only one store in our entire area that sells Wewalka dough and even the store clerk remarked that it's a very popular brand and products. Apparently they can't keep them in stock and everyone in our town recommends them. Now I can brag about how much I love Wewalka products as well.

We ended up actually splitting up our Wewalka baking party since we couldn't get everyone together on the same day. One day we hosted with my family, and another day we hosted with my husband's parents. I love spreading my love for great products with friends and family. They even gifted us with some fun party gifts for our guests.
