Colorful Creations Adult Coloring Books

I try to take some time every once in a while to get some coloring in because it helps me relax, especially when I listen to music while I do it. Long before adult coloring became a thing, I was one of those people who came home from work and sat down with my dinner, and a Lisa Frank coloring book and go to town. I still color in kids coloring books, but I do like the intricacy of adult coloring books. I especially like that they are so nice, that you could rip them out and frame them to hang in the office (or wherever) if you wanted to.

I love these colorful creations books by Jess Volinski. This is the first time I've come across books that give you inspiration on colors and includes a key color chart so you can see what colors go great together. They also include various full color examples of completed pages, done by real people, in the beginning of each book.

There's also a handy color key on the bottom of the first few pages to ease you into it if you are new to this adult coloring book craze. Of course you are welcomed to be creative and color it however you want. As you get into it, you'll discover pretty quickly what colors blend well together and really enhance the picture.

Colorful Creations: Positively inspired is full of beautiful pictures that include positive sayings, surrounded by floral and geometric designs.

Colorful Creations: Butterfly Mandalas has pretty mandala designs that feature butterflies. This one with the peace sign is my favorite.

On the opposite side of each coloring page, is another positive, inspiring quote and a smaller design to color.

More about Jess Volinski

My Hi there, I'm Jess! If you feel like you've seen my art somewhere, it's probably because you have! My illustrations and designs have been licensed well over 500,000 times and appeared on countless apparel, stationary, and tableware products in stores across the world. A few years ago I even illustrated a commercial for CBS's Fall comedy lineup, which was super fun. Check it out here: https://vimeo.com/29005340

In 2003 I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City with a BFA in Illustration. While living in NYC, I worked in the publishing industry as an in-house freelance designer in the children's book departments at Henry Holt, Scholastic, and HarperCollins. During this time I also freelanced as a textile surface designer. After leaving the city to start a family, I jumped into illustration as a full-time career and I have been earning a living doing what I love to do ever since!
