The Burga Box

Ever since I've started a healthier lifestyle, I don't eat huge meals all that often. As a matter of fact, sometimes I struggle to eat my three small meals a day. However, I do still get a craving for burgers and fries every now and then. Big greasy burgers and perfectly seasoned fries are next in line for my cheat day meals (after pizza of course). My husband loves this kind of food all the time, though. So when I discovered BurgaBox, I had to try it out. The food looked delicious and I couldn't help myself.

BurgaBox is a monthly subscription box sort of like Blue Apron (only better, honestly). However, you can choose to order one box at a time instead of committing to the monthly plan. Along with choosing just one box at a time, you also get to choose the meal you want. Where as with the monthly plan, you get to try a new meal that ends up being a complete surprise each month. So it's really all in what you wish to get out of this.

We chose just one box for now and after browsing all the delicious options on the site, I chose the famous Mac Attack burger, which was featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

While on the site, after you choose your desired burger, you can then choose what kind of fries and mac and cheese you want. There are so many options and it's really hard to choose just one for each. I went with the regular mac and cheese and parmesan garlic fries, although you can get everything from chili to hot sauce on either of those. The meal also came with cole slaw and baked beans.

They ship from Monday to Wednesday because they are delivering fresh ingredients to you and want to make sure your meal doesn't sit on a delivery truck through the weekend. In my case, I ordered after one of their ship days, so I had to wait until the following Monday before mine shipped out. When it arrived, the box was huge and inside the box was an insulated bag with packed ice to keep the ingredients cold.

As soon as you open the box, they provide you with instructions for each portion of your meal. We had heating instructions for the mac and cheese, fries, and of course, the instructions for the burgers, as well as the list of ingredients used for it so we could have it ready to go.

Literally everything you need for this meal is provided (I mean except the pans to cook it in, obviously) including the seasoning for the burgers. There is the option to get a meal for 2 or a meal for 4. We got the meal for two, but as you can see, it's a ton of food, so other than there being not enough burgers, you could probably feed 4 people on the sides alone.

Everything was packaged individually. Everything for the burgers together, everything for the fries together, and the mac and cheese, beans, and cole slaw came in their own containers. The mac and cheese container can be slid right into the oven as is, with the exception of removing the lid. I baked the fries in foil, and really only used two pans for everything else, so even though it's a ton of food, I didn't really dirty a ton of dishes either.

I ended up cooking the burger in the same pan as the bacon, and it gave my burger even more bacon flavor. Of course, instead of just a slice of cheese, there is mac and cheese on this burger, hence the name Mac Attack. The photo above isn't even half of the amount of food you receive and I couldn't even fir it all on the largest plate we had in the house, which by the way, is actually a serving platter. I'm not kidding you, there is a lot of food here. This is fine if you are okay with leftovers or are a big eater. If you are neither of those, then this probably isn't for you. Although, I will say, you are really missing out! The entire meal was absolutely delicious! My husband was able to eat far more than I could, as I could hardly even eat half of the burger, much less everything else that's on this plate. But I would be lying if I said that I didn't at least try, because it was too good to put down. Okay, so granted, you could make all of this yourself, but I really think it would end up costing you far more to make all of this from scratch, besides that, it's already all done for the most part. All you have to do is heat the sides and cook the burger. From experience, it took me a lot less time to cook all this from the package than it does on a normal night making everything myself.

So the verdict here?

It's definitely worth giving a try! I know we are going to try out the other meals they have on the site after trying this one.

So now that you're salivating over this delicious meal, why don't you head on over and check out BurgaBox. You can also CLICK HERE to get $10 off a box!
