Before having my children, I was a slim 101 pounds at the most. After having my second child, I weighed 200 pounds and I felt awful. Because I'm so short, this hugely effected my health. I could barely walk and had trouble breathing. I was exhausted all the time. I've struggled with self esteem issues my whole life and suffer from BDD, anxiety, and depression. I knew I had to do something about my weight, if not just for myself, but for my family as well.

With a lot of hard work and discipline, I had managed to lose 65 pounds and kept it off for over a year. I was almost to my goal weight, but I got a little lazy, though, and last Christmas I managed to gain a bunch of weight back. I got farther and farther from my goal weight. I thought, I did this before, I can do this again, and once again worked hard to try and lose the extra weight I put on. This time, it wasn't as easy. Exercise came easy to me because I've always loved being active. So I was able to get some physical activity in daily. Eating habits, however were a little more rough. I would go to the store and purchase healthier foods and snacks and was doing great until I would see my husband eating pizza and cheeseburgers and I started to cry. Salads, grilled chicken, and tuna start to get old after a while and I was always still hungry afterwards. I sort of gave up because I felt like my only options were to starve myself or just be unhappy with my weight.

Recently, I was accepted into a program that I have high hopes about helping me get over this bump in my weight loss road. I'm proud to announce that starting in January, I will be blogging my journey with Nutrisystem as a Nutrisystem Nation Blogger!

Each week I will be updating you with what I'm eating from their large selection of foods, what foods are good and what ones I feel are not so good, and you'll also get to see my progress whether I've gained weight or lost it and since we all know that the number on the scale isn't always accurate when it comes to determining weight loss (because you can lose fat, but gain muscle), I'll also be taking measurements!

You'll get to see how the program works and what foods are worth trying as well as learn more about their program and how you can start your own weight loss journey with Nutrisystem.

Nutrisystem provides you with a large selection of foods (which can be paired with store bought fresh fruits and veggies) that are picked just for you and your goals, including diabetic and vegetarian options. They also give you access to expert councilors and dietitians, online tracking, and support tools to help you.

On Nutrisystem, you don't starve yourself thin. You eat 4-5 times a day, meals are delivered right to your door each month, and the claim is that you lose 1-2 pounds a week on average and with their Fast 5 program, an average of 5 pounds in the first week!

Sounds pretty good, right? Well, we are going to see, because I'm jumping head first into this and will be reporting my progress back to all of you. And since you all know how honest I am, you know this is the place to find out if this program really works.
