Taking Some Couple Time Away From Your Family

Being a parent is a full time job. Your kids depend on you, and you do everything you can to ensure they’re safe, healthy, and happy. But sometimes, that can leave you and your partner feeling exhausted in your relationship - you don’t have much time to spend together, just the two of you, and you don’t know when things are going to change for the better.

This is a collaborative post

So, to help ensure that you and your significant other have some moments to yourself, to help you feel like you’re still young and in love and there for one another, here are a few simple ideas you might want to try out.

Come Up with a Date Night

A regular date night is something more and more modern couples are deciding to pencil into the calendar. After all, it helps to ensure you plan to spend time together, and you’re never accidentally putting other responsibilities or people before one another.

It helps to keep your partner on your mind, and makes sure you come up with regular fun outings and new restaurants to check out together. All in all, it sets a precedent for your relationship; you set a time to spend together, which means you’re much more likely to take that time, rather than trying to be spontaneous and failing.

Take on Chores Together

Chores are a big part of family life, and as parents, you’re going to be spending a lot of time ensuring the house is clean and the clothes are washed and the dinner is cooked. But when you take on the chores together, you can have some fun together!

There’s nothing quite like chopping vegetables and frying off something in the pan while laughing and joking with each other, while the kids play in the room next door. It’s a simple way of spending time together while you traditionally don’t have the time too, and it helps to ensure you’re both doing your part.

Come Up with a Nickname!

A nickname might seem like a simple concept, but it has a lot to offer you and your relationship. On the surface it’s a cute thing that’ll make your friends go ‘aww’ when they hear it, but it can have a much deeper meaning as well. After all, it’s a good reminder of how much you love each other, or the good times you have spent together in the past while you’re busy in the present.

So, if you’re interested in coming up with some potential couple names, you can use a generator like this one to smash some ideas together. It could even be used as a way to secretly refer to your partner, as and when you need a name like that… maybe for sneaking away together when you’re in a public/family setting?

Having the time for each other, as a couple with kids, might seem impossible, but there’s little changes you can make that will help to make all the difference.
