Degusta Box January 2018 Unboxing

New year, new Degusta Box!
January's box was full of some old favorites and some new brands.

We are always so excited when the new Degusta box arrives. My son is home with me during the day when it comes and loves helping me try the foods that come while we get some photos for you guys. We really love how this bx has opened our eyes to new brands and products that we typically would never try or have yet found available in our stores. And to be quite honest, you get all of this to taste and try for less than you can purchase them in stores. Full size products at sample prices. What's not to love, right?

I am an avid olive oil girl because olive oil is hardly ever the same from brand to brand depending on the type of olives, region and season the olives are grown, and how they are bottled. So I always love trying different brands and actually using different brands depending on the dish I am making. For example, for desserts, I prefer olive oils with sweeter flavors. You can actually learn more in my Flavor Your Life With Authentic European Olive Oil post. This is my first time hearing of Monini Olive Oil and I really like it.

Since I am in desperate need of increasing my protein because I am a fitness fiend, I like that Degusta Box sends me protein bars and such in most boxes. This month they sent me organic edamame spaghetti, which is loaded with protein. I admit, I have never had edamame, so this is a first for me, but I really love pasta, but I'm not thrilled with the amount of carbs in most pastas and I try to find alternatives as often as I can. I'll definitely be giving this a shot. Probably with a pesto sauce or something.

Mmmm, maple sugar! I got two little samples of the Crown Maple Sugar and I love it. I use this in my oatmeal in the morning and honestly, I think this would be great in my cinnamon rolls. Maybe even my coffee. The possibilities are endless.

Boom Chicka Pop is a brand that we are familiar with and has come in pat boxes. We received two bags of the sea salt and they are really good. It's perfect when I'm craving something salty with a little crunch. I reach for these instead of greasy potato chips and it's so much healthier.

These Naan Chips are brand new to me. I've never heard of or tried them until they came in this box. I did try them plain, and they are good, but I kept thinking they would taste so much better with a dip of some sort. They have a nice crunch to them and a lightly salted flavor.

Degusta Box is responsible for my love of Loaker. Once again, i hadn't heard of that brand until we started getting Degusta Box and I am so happy we found them. Loaker chocolates are delicious. White chocolate is my favorite, so I dug into these immediately. They are a sweet white chocolate with a light crisp wafer inside. Delicious!

Go Organic fruit snacks are another favorite of ours so we are always happy to see them in the box as well. It's nice to see that Degusta Box also includes snacks for kiddos as well.

Ohh boy I love me some fruit! I also love me some coconut water. These are really great and they go fast in my house. The only complaint I really have about them is that they are filled with so much coconut water, that when you try to open them, you tend to get water all over you in the process. The coconut water is so much better than the syrup that usually comes in fruit cups and canned fruit cocktails.

Cello Whisps were included in a past box in the Parmesan flavor . These are amazing in salads and soups, but are really popular in one of my fitness groups because it's perfect for those on the Keto diet. They are low in carbs and are 100% cheese. Nothing else. It satisfies that need for something crunchy.

Wasa Thins have also been in previous boxes. This time around we received the rosemary and sea salt flavor; one we have not tried yet. I like the Wasa Thins. I eat them plain even though others have stated that they are super bland. I like them that way, especially when I have an upset stomach. At any rate, I wasn't hooked on the rosemary flavor. I don't know why, I just didn't care for this particular flavor.

I am a spice lover. I am habitually adding hot sauce to pretty much everything. Wings are a staple in our home on most weekends. So when I pulled this out of the box, I started to salivate immediately. This wing marinade is full of different peppers and is high on the heat scale, but it's oh so good. I'm hooked. I first tried it with some leftover breaded chicken from my Chinese leftovers. I tossed the breaded chicken in this sauce, and added some mozzarella. Absolutely delicious, but boy was my mouth on fire! I can't wait to try it on other things as grill season comes back around.
