Author Melissa M. Williams writes books for children of any age that are sure to become favorites. Among her many works are the Little Miss Molly picture books and Turtle Town chapter books. 


Little Miss Molly hardcover picture books are geared towards children aged 3-8. Illustrated by Kelley Ryan, Little Missy Molly is about a frog who loves the color pink and dressing up as a princess. When a huge disaster spoils Molly's day, she soon finds out that there's much more to being a princess than dressing pretty and wearing pink. 


The book is perfect for new readers because the words are easy to read and are written creatively throughout the book.

The Turtle Town series are chapter books that are geared towards more advanced readers ages 8-12 and follow a box shell turtle name Snap Shell who also appears in Melissa's Iggy the Iguana series. In The Inner Puka, the first book in the series, Snap Shell the turtle, being from Texas, must find his place in a California surf town after his father is transfered. Due to his physical differences, he faces many challenges as he tries to become the only surfing box shell turtle on the beach. 


The story is a fun read and the book does have a few pictures that are also illustrated by Kelley Ryan.
