This article explores the process of making round steak in the slow cooker or crockpot. This recipe is easier to follow and is well worth your time as it is delicious and mouth-watering.
This recipe can also be followed when you are looking for a special dish that you can prepare for your family, including the elderly who might have special dietary needs. Despite their changing eating habits, this meal is healthy and enjoyable for them. If you are watching your calorie and fat intake, then round steak may also be the solution for you because it is part of lean beef. This meal can be one of the many healthy alternatives that you serve your family as well.

Ingredients

Two pounds of round steak (You could use the steak that you have at home instead of buying)
  • 1.4 cup red wine vinegar
  • A tablespoon of stock seasoning
  • A sliced onion
  • Two tablespoons A-1 sauce
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Boullion cube
  • Garlic powder
The last two ingredients are meant to throw in a little extra flavour, so you should use them sparingly if you do not want your food riddled with too much spice.

Method

The first step when cooking is to ensure that your crockpot is sprayed with non-stick spray. A good idea would also be to utilize brands such as Reynolds slow cooker liner to make clean-up easier after you have enjoyed your meal.
After this, place the onions you sliced in the pan and then top up with steaks. The next step is to whisk together A-1 and the red wine vinegar in a bowl. Take this mixture and pour it over the steak. Season the beef with garlic powder and bouillon cubes.
You then cook this on low heat for approximately six to eight hours. Slow cooking ensures that the round steak becomes tender. You can choose to cook it on high heat for fewer hours, but it will not be tender.
Add salt and pepper.

How to Serve the Round Steak Recipe

You can serve your delicious round steak with broccoli and baked potatoes. Alternatively, you can serve the meal with noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice, depending on what you and your family want. Any other vegetable, including peas, carrots, or zucchini, could work.

Extra Tips

You can use onion soup mix in place of onions and salt. While there are many different ways, you could cook your broth, but this simple recipe produces excellent results. The meat is tasty yet soft enough to fall apart on its own. This simple recipe also saves you money as you will either buy the cheaper cuts or use what you have at home.
