5 Reasons to Eat More Cake

Most of us spend a large portion of our adult lives worrying about how we look, our weight, and what we should and shouldn’t be eating. Even those of us who are happy with our bodies, or don’t put too much focus on what size our jeans are, like to think that we’re eating healthily and giving our bodies what they need.

This is a collaborative post

For some, this is a healthy balance. We find ways to eat the things that we love as part of a healthy diet. We let ourselves have treats, and we’re relatively relaxed about what we are eating. For others, it’s much more structured. We might struggle to let ourselves eat sweet treats like cake because we are so worried about gaining a few lbs or harming our bodies.

When this happens, life can get a little depressing. We should all let ourselves enjoy the things that we love from time to time, and when it comes to healthy eating, and taking care of our bodies, balance is absolutely vital. With that in mind, here are just five of the reasons why you should let yourself eat cake!

It’ll Make You Happy

Your mental health is as important as your physical health. One of the best ways to look after your mental health is with a little of what you like. Is there any better pick me up than a hot cup of coffee and a slice of delicious german chocolate cake after a long and stressful morning? If a slice of cake makes you smile, boosts your mood and makes you feel better about anything that you are struggling with, what could possibly be wrong with it? Sometimes, we need things that make us happy, even when we know that they are bad for us.

To Improve Your Baking Skills

Baking is a fantastic hobby. It’s relaxing and a great way to explore your creativity. It also means that you can make homemade baked gifts to keep your friends and family happy. But, we’re not all that good at it. The best way to get better is with practice. Eat more cake, and you’ll get more practice.

Cake Can be Social

When you eat cake alone at home, you are more likely to overindulge than if you eat with friends. Invite a friend over or go out for coffee and cake, and you’ll have a sensible slice as well as a nice long chat. All of the best conversations seem to happen over a slice of sticky cake.

It’s Comforting

Whoever found comfort in a healthy salad? If you are feeling down and need a boost, a slice of cake is ideal. It’s warming and comforting, and it will make you feel better about yourself.

When You Eat Dessert, You Are Less Likely to Snack or Binge

Eating cake after dinner can reduce the risk of snacking later on. If you indulge in a sweet treat after dinner, you are less likely to feel the urge to pick at sweets or binge on chocolates when you settle down for the evening.
