It's been a long time since I did a Cosplay Mommy post, mostly because I've been so busy with our vow renewal, that I haven't really been doing any cosplay at all. For the cons we have been to so far, I've just been wearing a corset and muggle clothes. I've even missed a few photoshoots with the DuBois Area Fantasy Photoshoot Group because I've been ridiculously busy. However, the next photoshoot theme is so fun, I am making a point to not miss this one.
The next shoot theme is Candyland and since that use to be my favorite game when I was a child, I immediately started planning my outfit.
Instead of going with the typical "candy" theme. I've chosen to do more of a Sweet Treats theme so I can add cupcakes, donuts, and ice cream as well as the candy.
So far, this is what I have for my outfit.
I've ordered the Candy Clown dress, but I don't think I'm going to use the neck piece or hat. I am however going to use the white gloves and diamond net tights (sold separately from the dress). I've also ordered the lollipop earrings, which I got from Sugar Lick on Etsy and I'm definitely going to have to hit up her store a few more times because her earrings are adorable! The shoes I found on Amazon as well as the wig. There's a second wig I'm considering that is much shorter and curly but is also blonde and pink. That cute little donut is a hair clip from Bean Sprinkle Arts on etsy and I'm also planning to hit her shop up a few more times as well because she makes the cutest hair accessories. I'll more than likely replace the neck piece of the costume with actual candy necklaces, which I haven't had since I was a kid, so that should be fun.
As for props, I ordered these two treats from Fake Cupcake Creations. Can you believe these are fake?! They look so deliciously real! I'm also working on a few larger than life size lollipops from some Styrofoam balls and dow rods that I originally purchased to make topiaries for the vow renewal, but have since went in a different direction. My husband is currently brainstorming on how to make our group one of these beauties:
It's a huge melting lollipop!
I have so many ideas floating through my head for props and outfits. I've even started planning an outfit for my daughter. This will be her first photoshoot and she's just as excited as I am.
