Marked in Ink by Megan Massacre

I've been into tattoos for a really long time and even have quite a few of my own. My husband learned to tattoo from a local tattoo artist and so I guess you can say tattoos are life in my house. We are also an artistic household. We color, paint, draw...you name it. So I instantly jumped for joy when I saw this book. I've been known to print out tattoo flash and color it because I liked the style of the art and I've requested a tattoo artist friend of mine make his own coloring book as well. I just LOVE tattoos!

This adult coloring book is by Megan Massacre, who is a female tattoo artist who you may have seen on popular reality tv shows such as NY Ink and America's Worst Tattoos. Megan lends her popular art style to this book of mermaids, sugar skulls, ships, owls, and so much more in 32 pages.

Pages are perforated with an image on one side only (not back-to-back) so they can be torn out to frame and/or display, or if you are feeling inspired, you can take your favorite flash sheet to your tattoo artist and have him tattoo it on you! This is also great because you can then use whatever medium you feel like using without the fear of it bleeding through to the back page or the next page. Single illustration sheets are my favorite because I usually use colored pencils or gel pens, but I use watercolor on my pages any chance I get. I can tear these out, put on top of a piece of cardboard and go to town with the watercolors for a beautiful, frame worthy, piece of art.

Since coloring has a calming element to it, this would be a great book to xerox off and keep coloring sheets in a tattoo shop with colored pencils or markers to keep clients busy while they are getting inked.
