Whether it is for health concerns, growing vegetables or ensuring your pool isn't a hotbed of algae pH testing is an easy way of protecting yourself. Universal pH paper is easy to use and is a reliable method of testing:
✔ Urine & Saliva
✔ Drinking water
✔ Aquariums, Pools, hot tubs, spas
✔ Garden soil
✔ Coffee, tea
✔ Skin care and hair care products

By knowing the pH level of many common products you can protect your health. Skin care and hair care products for example can lead to dry, itchy skin, cause dandruff, infections, and rashes if they have improper pH levels. Homemade health elixirs like Kombucha Tea, which is a fermented herbal tonic, can contain harmful microorganisms if the pH is too low. Your pool and aquarium can be a breeding ground for algae if the pH is off. And if you love the taste of homegrown vegetables then you know the pH level in your garden is paramount in producing healthy, tasty fruits and vegetables.

✔ Your urine and saliva to monitor body health
✔ Your soil for healthy gardens and lawns
✔ Your pool, hot tub, spa, ponds and aquariums

Now that all that info is out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about my testing of this product.

I remember in school when we would use litmus papers to test all sorts of things in science class. At the time, I just thought is was a cool experiment, but as I get older, I see that there is a real purpose behind testing the PH levels of things. If you are a woman who has ever had a urinary tract infection, you'll know that keeping an eye on your PH balance helps prevent them and also helps clear them up. There are many other reasons to check PH balance, but for me, that one is a big one.

I tested my water as well as my saliva. The instructions state to soak the paper in the test solution for a half a second then match the color on the wheel. 7 is neutral, 1 is very acidic, and 14 is very alkaline. The first photo is my result after testing my saliva. As you can see, it doesn't look like it changed color much so I'm going to say my saliva is a 6, so a little on the acidic side, but probably nothing to be worried about. The second photo is my test of my tap water. you can just barely see a color change on that one, but it looks like it might be an 8.

I wasn't really satisfied with those results because I really want to see some type of difference to really know how well this paper works.

I then tested Coca-Cola...

See the color difference? Coke is a number two (it's closer to that number in real life, the photos color is a little off) on the PH scale meaning it's pretty acidic (no surprise there). I don't have anything around my house to test for a large level of alkaline, but you can see that it does work well and it's very quick and simple. The color change is instantaneous.

I definitely recommend having one of these kits around the house. They really come in handy.
