Francois et Mimi Vintage-Style 20-Ounce Soup Mugs Review

I cannot express to you how much I enjoy using soup mugs. I don't know why, but I think they are much cuter and more cozy to use than bowls. They also seem to hold more.

I have a Hello Kitty one I purchased from Walmart, but as much as I love it, I can no longer use it. It's cheaply made and the inside coating is coming off (although you can't tell by looking at it) and everything you eat/drink from it tastes like paint. Ick.

I received these new soup mugs from Francois et Mimi recently and I love everything about them. They come in a set of 4 for less than $30. They are 20 ounce mugs in an ivory color with a subtle modern design on the outside so they will fit any decor. The mugs are of high quality and unlike my Hello Kitty mug, there's no worry about paint or coating coming off because these mugs weren't painted with cheap paint after they were made. They are made of stoneware.

These are dishwasher and microwave safe and are also lead free. I'm starting to think that my beloved Hello Kitty mug can't boast that.

They come nicely packaged in a retail gift box, although, when I received mine, the box literally fell apart. Thankfully it was packaged inside another box, but I feel they could have been packaged slightly better. I'm not sure how well they would hold up for someone who has a crappy delivery man who isn't gentle with their packages. We are lucky enough to have a wonderful delivery man who actually considers the possibility of something breakable in our packages. Thank goodness!

I use these for just about everything! Of course they are used for soup, but I also use them for cereal, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, ice cream, and yummy homemade baked mac and cheese! They hold a lot too! I can fill my mug with mac and cheese and be full before I eat it all. I mean, these things are about the size of my face. No joke. I think I've used these just about every day since I got them. We definitely get a ton of use out of them.
