Lavender Eye Pillow Review

I hadn't realized how much I needed something like this until I actually got a chance to try it. I suffer from horrendous migraine headaches, the ones they call "complex migraines" which hit quickly and very hard and mimic the symptoms of a stroke. For years, the doctors couldn't really do anything for me because medication never helped. So I basically had to suffer through them and they sometime would last for a week straight. I use to just keep a cold (or warm depending) wash cloth over my eyes or the back of my neck all the time, but that really didn't help much. Naturally, all I really wanted or could do was sleep, but with pain that bad, it's kind of hard.

The other day I had felt one coming on and decided to try out this lavender eye pillow. My husband stuck it in a ziplock bag and put it in the freezer for a bit to cool it off for me. I placed it over my eyes and it really eased up the pain of my migraine.
The silky material holds the "coolness" way better than a washcloth and it feels softer and more comfortable. The lavender scent is soothing and relaxing. As a matter of fact, I had left it sitting on my nightstand after my migraine had went away and I can just faintly smell it while I'm sleeping at night and it's wonderful.
The scent is slightly overpowering when it first arrives, but just lay it out for a while and it lightens up a bit.

I am making my mom a gift basket for Mother's Day and am going to add one of these in it. She has been having trouble sleeping and been in pain from her chemo treatments and I really think this would help ease her stress and help her sleep a little better at night.
