Bluum: May Review

It's time for another Bluum Box review. This one is for the May box which, for us, is the 22 month box. May's box seemed to have a "summer" theme to it. As you know, Bluum doesn't typically do themes. They cater to the child's age and "stages" more so than compiling a themed box.

As you can see, this months box had 5 items (6 if you count the coupon they sent to coincide with the sunglasses).

We got another book this month, which I love. This one is First Concepts: Colors by Priddy Books. This book retails for $8.99. It's another flap and tab book. I use to love these kinds of books for my kids, however, my children are rather destructive. My son had the tabs and flaps ripped out within an hour. It's a huge bummer, but he still loves the book and still flips through it. Luckily it is a board book. had it been paper, I'd really have a mess on my hands. At any rate, the book if filled with full color real photographs on each page and it's very pleasing to the eyes.

I think this was the "mommy" gift this month, but in all honesty, your kids could eat it too. It's Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn by Angie's in Sea Salt flavor and it retails for $1.39. Personally I felt it was a little bland. It reminded me of a plain, no flavor, rice cake. Although, it is a lot healthier for you than most other popcorn you buy at the market. So if you are looking for something healthy to beat that snack craving, this would probably do the job.

These are Banz Kids sunglasses in brown camo which are absolutely perfect for my little guy. He LOVES wearing sunglasses and him and his daddy are camo men. These are perfect for all the summer picnics and outings we have planned. They stay on his face better than regular sunglasses since they have a soft elastic band attached to them that can be adjusted. They are a nice study plastic so they will take a beating pretty well. It has a rubber nose piece so it fits comfortably on their little faces. These also offer 100% UV protection. They are available for ages 0-5 years.

Our next item is this Moisturizing Mineral Sunstick by Purple Prairie Botanicals and retails for $8.99. Sun protection is very important and this sunstick is a lot easier to carry in a diaper bag than a bottle of lotion. Plus, it's easier to apply! It's a little thicker consistency than deodorant which, in my opinion, is great because I hate runny suntan lotions. They are a goopy mess. The scent is very unappealing, though! I realize it's organic, but I'm sure they could have found a way to give it more of a powdery scent or something. I love everything about this product except for the fact that my kids are going to smell like rotten vegetables after applying it.

The last item is this boys summer hat by Flap Happy; retailing at $19.00. This hat is a very light material so it's not going to make your kids heat sweat while they wear it, but as always, it's very important to protect their little noggin, neck, and shoulders from the sun as well. Te one we got in our box isn't as nice (my opinion) as the one in this picture. I would have rather had the one with the sea creatures. Ours looked more like it was straight from the 90's. As a matter of fact, they have a lot of ridiculously adorable hats and swim wear for children so I will no doubt buy a few more in various patterns. You can check out a pretty nice selection on Amazon by clicking this link.
