March 2014 Bluum Box Review

This month's Bluum box arrived early this morning and I have to say, it's probably one of  the best ones I've seen. I am really impressed with the contents! For those of you who don't know, Bluum is a monthly subscription box for kids ages 0-3 and costs $24.95/month. There are no real "themes" to theses boxes so each month is a complete surprise!

20 month box

My son was just as excited as I was about there being TWO books in the box this time around. I love when subscription boxes include books!

Lets take a closer look at the contents:

Pampers Kandoo Flushable Wipes (Unscented)- These apparently vary in price. I looked them up online and a 42 pack will range anywhere from $1.99 to $22.68 (Which is pretty ridiculous if you ask me). I would think they are closer to the $1.99 mark in most stores though. At any rate, we like to carry a container of wipes with us in the car just in case and already have a gigantic tub of them. I may just throw these in the diaper bag for when we are out. I love that they are flushable though! The package says they clean up to 30% better than toilet paper. I have never tried any of the Kandoo products before so this will be a first for us.

Beginagains Push Arounds Dog - Retail value (according to their web site) $13.00. The description on the web site reads:

"The PushArounds are great for developing balance and fine motor skill development through play. Babies and toddlers love to push and pull these bright stained rolling eco-friendly toys. Shaped from a single piece of earth friendly Rubberwood, this whimsical toy is a delight to hold and play with. Rubber wheels protect floors."

My son loved this right out of the box. It was the first thing he ran off with, without even looking at anything else. He loves animals and he loves cars, so I had no doubt he'd love this. It's suggested for ages 18+ and measures 5" x 4" x 1" and weighs about 7 oz.  There are a lot of great toys from this brand. Simple First Sounds: Noisy Zoo - I was able to find this on Amazon for $8.99 (with Amazon Prime), but you can get it new for as low as $3.49. This book introduces first facts about some of the animals children can see at the zoo. There are facts about each of the four animals plus pictures of their noses, feet, ears, eyes, and mouths to show how different animals have different features. The buttons at the side play the noise that each animal makes and is very clear and realistic. As I said before, my son loves animals. So when I presented him with this, he went straight to pressing each button and mimicking the sounds the animals make.

First Concepts: Numbers Board Book - I was able to find this on Amazon as well for $8.09 (with Prime). The colors in this book are bright and bold and there are many flaps to lift and pieces that slide out. The pictures in the book are real life photographs of familiar things and they are labeled with simple text to help them name what they see. The last page is pretty neat. For the number '10' they made a mini book with all the other numbers and pictures in it. So it's basically a book inside of a book.

Deep Steep Hand Scrub in Passion Fruit and Guava scent- Retails at $9.95 for 2oz.  This stuff smells AMAZING! It has a scent that reminds me of summer. I would guess that this is the "Mommy item" for the month and even if it were for my son, I'd probably use it way more than he would. I really can't get over the smell of it, honestly. It's the perfect blend of salts and exotic oils to hydrate and polish skin to perfection. I see on their web site that they have a Lavender scent so I will most definitely be picking that one up as well. They have a lot of great stuff on their site. Go here to check it out: Deep Steep
