Bluum February 2014 Review

We received our first full size Bluum box on Friday. We had a three month subscription back in 2012 when they were still sending out the little boxes filled with mostly samples and weren't impressed. After having a subscription to Citrus Lane (which we, for the most part, loved), we decided to give Bluum's new full size boxes a try.

Bluum sends you age and gender-appropriate products for your child each month for as long as you stay subscribed. Logging in to your account, you can set milestones and check off accomplishments that help them send you products that are truly relevant to you and your child. Reviewing products earns rewards points redeemable for extra products or free months in the future.

Generally, each product you review gives you 10 points. Of course, you also get points towards free boxes when someone signs up through your link. They don't seem to have "themes" for their boxes like Citrus Lane does, but it's basically the same concept.

Now to get into this month's box.

This was the 19 month old box

The email they sent to accompany the delivery of the box said

"These products are trending with Bluum moms with 18 months old sons"

In this months box we received,
Melissa and Doug: Rainbow Stacker- This stacker retails for $7.99 and is great for teaching colors and for hand and eye coordination. There are 8 smooth, easy-grasp wooden pieces that stack on a solid wood base designed with rocking edges for safe and intriguing play.

Circle of Friends: Hans Blueberry Shampoo- This bottle is 10 FL OZ and retails for $11.40. This says it's ideal for thick or curly hair, however, it's great for all hair types. And it really does smell like blueberries! It cleans thoroughly while leaving hair conditioned, maintains hair's ideal moisture balance and adds shine and body. It won't sting their eyes and best of all, it's SLS free.

Weleda: Calendula Weather Protection Cream- This was a 1 oz tube that retails for $12.00 which I find rather expensive. This cream is to protect your babies sensitive skin from harsh cold and wind by employing the protective and moisturizing power of beeswax and lanolin. The sweet almond oil cares for dry skin, leaving it visibly smooth and supple. I have not used this yet. Winter is almost (hopefully) done here so I may not get to test this out until next year. I did open it to check out the consistency and scent and found that it was more of an oil than an actual cream and it has a very organic scent to it.

Booginhead: Sippigrips in Blue/Green- This retails for $7.50. One end attaches to a cup, bottle, or toy and the other can be attached to a car seat, high chair, or stroller. Speaking honestly, we could have used this when my son was a bit younger and we actually carried a sippy or bottle with us. We don't anymore since he drinks from whatever we are drinking from (straw cup, bottle...). It seems to be made well though, however, I have not bothered to open the packaging yet.

Luna Bar: Chocolate Dipped Coconut- This was the "mom" product for the month and it retails at $2.00. This was surprisingly delicious. It tasted like a Mounds bar. These bars also come in Caramel Nut Brownie, Chocolate Peppermint Stick, Peanut Butter Cookie, Lemon Zest, S'Mores, White Chocolate Macadamia, and various other yumtastic flavors. You can order a box of 15 on Amazon for around $20.00.

This month's box total came to $40.89! That's pretty awesome since Bluum is only $24.95/month!
